Ishan has successfully completed and achieved the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) qualification, and has commenced pursuit of the Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) qualification.
He achieved 3 A*s in his Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Economics A-levels.
Having completed a full year at the London School of Economics (LSE) studying Economics, he sought a change and decided to join Pure Tax for a more hands on experience of the tax investigations and disputes world. His passion for Maths which is demonstrated by him receiving 2 golds and 3 silvers in the UK Mathematics Trust (UKMT) Challenge and being selected for the senior team, led him to the Taxation profession.
He assists in HMRC tax investigation cases, including those under Code of Practice 9 (COP9, civil investigations of tax fraud), Code of Practice 8 (COP8, where large amounts of tax are contended), wide ranging cross-taxes business enquiries into SMEs and voluntary tax disclosures involving onshore and offshore assets.
Since working with the Pure Tax team, Ishan has been involved in cases being taken to the first-tier tax tribunal (FTT) too, so considering and responding to case management Directions; making applications for closure notices; and disputing appealable tax assessments through HMRC mechanisms like ADR and Independent Reviews.
